WHAT WE THOUGHT
It is unlikely that there will be any casual games released this year that will rival Westward 2 from Sandlot Games. If you played the first Westward, you remember the fun of building towns and defeating bandits and there is plenty more where that came from in Westward II: Heroes of the Frontier.
New features include 3D graphics that you can zoom in or out to select your preferred view. You can choose from 3 different main characters, including a female, and your character gains experience so you can unlock new items and upgrades in the store. You can also earn bonus trophies and there are new buildings and structures.
Westward isn’t afraid to be original, and this makes it stand out from the crowd from the other casual games that are being released on a daily basis. This is great value for money as the game is challenging and takes time to complete.
There is also a Sandbox mode so you can continue playing even after you have finished all your objectives in the Career mode. You can play Sandbox maps in two different ways – open range or disaster. There are also additional free Sandbox maps available from Sandlot Games, simply download and install to play.
