My whole life I have searched for a way to straighten my curly hair. The first attempt was my sister laying out my hair on the ironing board and using a traditional iron (not recommended!!). My hair has always been too thick to use a hair dryer alone, and I used to walk out of the hairdressers crying because they always tried to make me “embrace your Nicole Kidman hair”.

I would usually recommend a wider plate for thick hair, but the slim design is complimented by longer 120mm plates so you can work through bigger sections at once. This is a professional quality straightener, and is definitely going to create some competition in the market.
This heats up quickly, and you can choose which temperature you want (up to 230 degrees). It does give your hair a really silky, shiny straight look, which is sometimes taken away when using other heated tools.
All that is great, I know, but my absolute favourite thing about the VS Sassoon Academy Tools Straightener is that you can get it right up to the roots of your hair, and it is good for girls with fringes.
As I have grown older, I do like to change my hairstyle on a day to day basis, and while I still don't like my natural curls, I do like a styled curl. The good thing about this hair straightener is that it can do curls perfectly. The size is just right for twisting and curling your hair without the need to be double jointed.
It is stylish in a red and black design, it comes with a sleek leather look case for storage, and there is a heat protector mat included (which I really think should come with every straightener).

A quick note, before buying any hair straightener it is a good idea to try it first if you can! Not every hair straightener performs the same on different hair types. Another essential is to use a thermal protecting product before using any heat styling tools. Even the best styling tools can still cause damage.
