Leading telecommunications company, Uniden, is launching the perfect internet-enabled phone to make and receive FREE worldwide PC to PC internet calls to Microsoft Windows Live Messenger contacts.

Available in January 2007, the WIN 1200 Windows Live™ Messenger is a dual mode cordless phone that uses Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) to transmit telephone calls over the internet.

Callers can go from chatting online to chatting on a cordless phone instantly. The WIN 1200 connects to both a standard phone line and a PC using Windows Live™ Messenger to enable free PC to PC online calls.

Ideal for home offices, anyone making significant interstate or international calls or people who want to effortlessly stay in touch with their online contacts, the WIN 1200 is a convenient cost effective solution. The dual mode cordless phone switches seamlessly between online internet and regular calls.

Featuring a stylish black slim-line design, the handset utilises 5.8GHz digital spread spectrum technology to ensure outstanding clarity. A large colour LCD screen makes browsing Windows Live™ Messenger contacts to see who’s online and who’s busy easy. Uniden is also set to launch the Skype™ VoIP Gateway VG-100 in late January 2007.

Using the free online service Skype™, the VG-100 connects to a phone line and PC through Skype™ to make free worldwide calls to anyone on the same network, anywhere in the world.

Compatible with any cordless or corded phone (digital or analogue), the VG-100 features automatic switching between incoming Skype™ and standard phone calls.

The echo cancellation technology and full duplex sound quality function provides superior clarity. Skype™ calls can be forwarded to a mobile phone or the traditional landline and it also supports three-way handset conferencing between standard, mobile or Skype™ calls, making it ideal for small businesses.
