listening to...october music |

We love a variety of music, and there are so many unique albums coming out at the moment there is something for every taste.
This month we are listening to Gin’s debut EP Extended Play, and if you have heard her singles “These Roses” and “Under My Skin” you will understand why. Her music is described as a combination of pop, rock and blues and we were addicted from the first time we heard her.

Gin is coincidentally getting ready to tour in mid November; you can catch her in Melbourne and Sydney so keep an eye out for tickets. The shows will include her hit singles, as well as some new ones from her upcoming album.
We had to giggle when we recently discovered The New Kids on the Block have released another album, as we missed them the first time around and remember the older kid’s great obsession. It seems it’s the return of the boy bands, with Boyzone releasing a greatest hits album titled Back Again…No Matter What.

Greatest Hits will always make you feel nostalgic, and it brings back a lot of fond memories…and this one contains three brand new songs for some added variety. Boyzone devastatingly split in 1999, they are now back and we hope this is just the beginning!
Then there is Lucinda Williams with her album Little Honey which is a mixture of R&B, Country, Blues and Rock. When listening to this album the first time you are kept guessing – you never know what will come next.

This singer/songwriter says “I feel this is the most eclectic record I’ve ever done, and I’ve always been known for being eclectic.”
Ayo has been a favourite ever since we heard her single Down on My Knees and put her on the cover of Beauty and Lace. Her second album Gravity at Last is an absolute must listen. The sound is so powerful and unique, it will make you shiver, and we just can’t get enough.

For those of you who enjoy a little bit of country, Taylor Swift is an extremely talented 18 year old who is making waves in the music industry.

Her self titled album Taylor Swift has just been released and it will make you laugh, cry and get up and dance!
All the above titles are available from all good music stores.
